Today TexasPreps will be giving you a look at a few of the top players from around the state. We will also be taking a look at another out of state player. The first is Matt Harbin the QB for the Grapevine Mustangs. After a year in which Matt had over 2,500 yards of total offense and 24 TD's, Harbin's recruiting is really starting to pick up. Matt also help to lead his team to the Area Round of the 5A state playoffs and his also a worker in the class room, ranking in the top 5% in his class of close to 600. After being named District Defensive Soph. of the the year, Chris made the move over to the other side of the ball. During his JR year Wilson lead FB Austin in rushing and in TD's, and has began receiving interest from schools in the Big 12, Big 10, and ACC. Playing for Canyon Randall High, Blake help to lead his team in to the 4A playoffs and was named to many all District Teams. Tyler Massey was the QB of the state runner up Baylor School Chattanooga. He was also named by the Coaches and Tenn. sports writers as the All State QB. With over 2000 yards of total offense and 27 TD's, Tyler knows how to move the ball down the field. Below is a look at some players that are still looking for a place to play on Saturday's. A few of the players have already decided where they are going and the others are waiting and trying to make the best decision for them and their families. The first highlight you will see is of Aaron Wesson QB from Tyler's Grace Community in east Texas. After throwing for over 1800 yards and 21 TD's Aaron is ready to move on and play football at the next level. One that I got tape on was Forney's Thomas Moreland, and he is a good one. The thing that is making Thomas stand out to coaches is that he already kicks FG's off the ground with no tee. The college coaches have told me that is very important to them. Max is a QB out of Houston's Bellaire that has had schools calling him for the past 2 years. After another good season Flinn is still hearing from those schools and many are waiting to see where he will land. Many of you know QB Nick Fanuzzi, and you will get to see an update of his highlights from this past year. The other Churchill player that will be featured is WR Ryan Thayer. He is a player that on tape just kept getting open and catch everything thrown to him. Just like in the years past, Garland again will have some of the top talent in the state. After another great season in which the Owls went to the State Semi-finals game, Coach Jordan and his staff will be expecting next years team to make another deep run into the playoffs. With many of their top players coming back in 2007 Garland will once again be a force come next fall. With the 2005 season behind us, its time to start looking at the next round of players that will be coming through Irving High. Coach Bennett has alot to look forward to with this group of players coming back. As you will see below there will be many of these players go on to play football at the next level. With this amount of quality players on his squard, he can figure that The Irving Tigers will be in the hunt for a Distict Title next year.
